AMERICAN SAMOA

BYU–Hawaii Admission Criteria

  1. BYU–Hawaii Entrance Requirements: High School Transcripts & ACT or SAT
  2. Ecclesiastical endorsement.
  3. Missionary and community service, work experience, and age may also be used as determining factors in admission.

For more information on how to submit your transcripts, see Transcript Submission.

The Hawaii Freshmen Admissions Grid applies to American Samoa students as well. The grid is based on a combination of ACT scores and GPA. Students who may not be as academically competitive as normally required may qualify to be admitted into the Challenge Program. The Challenge Program allows students to enroll for Fall Semester and if they maintain a 2.5 GPA for the two required classes outlined in the Challenge Program guidelines.

Academic Factor

Generally, BYU–Hawaii looks for students with a GPA of 2.8 or higher and an ACT score of 21 or higher. Students with lower GPA or ACT scores can be considered for the Challenge Program.
