The requirements below are for individuals who have permanent residency in the United States. Their applications will be evaluated according to the academic standards of the U.S.

All students applying to Brigham Young University–Hawaii are required to have an ecclesiastical endorsement. You are responsible to schedule appointments with appropriate Church leaders and ensure the endorsements are complete by the application deadline. All students are expected to abide by the Honor Code, which includes (1) the Academic Honesty Policy, (2) the Dress and Grooming Standards, and (3) the applicable Residential Living Standards.
Domestic (U.S.) Applicants are required to obtain a high school diploma (or equivalent) before beginning at BYU–Hawaii. There are no prerequisite courses needed for admittance to BYUH. Applicants should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or more. The average cumulative GPA among our students is 3.6. Students who were homeschooled should follow instructions found on the Admission Requirements for Home Schooled Students page.

The application will prompt you to self-report your grades. Transcripts will be then used to verify those grades. All New Freshman admits must submit completed high school transcripts upon graduation from high school.

Any college credits earned while in high school may receive credit by sending official transcripts to Admissions but will not be considered a Transfer Student. Students who earn an Associate's Degree upon completing high school will be granted an exception.
Applicants who have earned college credits after completing high school should follow instructions found on the Transfer Student page.
BYU–Hawaii requires a minimum ACT or SAT equivalent score of 21. The average ACT score among our students is 26. If you have taken the SAT, you may refer to our ACT/SAT Equivalency Table to find your score's equivalent.
Scores must be sent through the examiners. We will not accept ACT/SAT scores via email or scores on transcripts.
Seminary or Missionary Service
In accordance with BYU–Hawaii's mission "to integrate both spiritual and secular learning", applicants that finished four years of seminary or institute and/or served a full-time mission will be given priority.
Leadership responsibilities and extracurricular activities may also be used as determining factors in admission decisions.
