BYU—Hawaii Freshman Admissions Criteria

1. Ecclesiastical endorsement.
2. Senior high school certifying documents (also known as secondary education documents).
3. This consists of:
   
   1. Current high school transcripts showing grades and years of progress and
   2. High School Diploma (if already awarded)
   3. Grade requirement: at least a 2.5 GPA (U.S. equivalent).
4. Meet the English test requirement.

Other Factors

Missionary and community service, work experience, and age may also be used as determining factors in admission. Transfer admissions criteria:

1. Ecclesiastical endorsement.
2. Applicants should have 24, or more, semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution with a “B” (US equivalent) grade point average. Transfer credit hours may also be earned through distance education courses over the internet.
3. Meet the English test requirement.

Note: The Michigan Test is available for currently serving or recently returned missionaries who have been home for less than a year.

BYU–Hawaii BYU-Pathway Partnership Program

BYU–Hawaii and BYU-Pathway Worldwide announced a new partnership that will expand educational options for international students. Here are the eligibility requirements:

1. Complete BYU-Pathway’s foundational PathwayConnect curriculum with a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher and/or complete BYU-Pathway Worldwide certificate and/or associate degree.
2. Meet the English test requirement.

The completion of a BYU-Pathway Worldwide program will waive BYU–Hawaii’s high school diploma/secondary education requirements.
