BYU–Hawaii Freshman Admissions Criteria
Graduate from a 12-year program and earn the Higher Secondary Certificate and achieve an average of at least 50% to be admissible.

Grading System
Most secondary schools use A-F, with E the lowest passing grade. A, B, and C would be considered good grades. At the university level, the highest grade is 60%. Grades are awarded as follows:
- Division I 60% +
- Division II 45-59.9
- Division III 33-44.9
- Fail below 33
Note: A box at the bottom of the transcript will indicate the overall level of the applicant.
BYU–Hawaii and BYU-Pathway Partnership Program
BYU–Hawaii and BYU-Pathway Worldwide announced a new partnership that will expand educational options for international students. Here are the eligibility requirements:
- Complete BYU-Pathway’s foundational PathwayConnect curriculum with a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher and/or complete a BYU-Pathway Worldwide certificate and/or associate degree.
The completion of a BYU-Pathway Worldwide program will waive BYU–Hawaii’s English proficiency and high school diploma/secondary education requirements.
