BYU–Hawaii Freshman Admissions Criteria

  1. Minimum of 6.5 (B)on Ijazah Sekolah Menengah Atas or Umum (aka. SMA or SMU).
  2. High school transcript.
  3. Meet the English test requirement.
  4. Ecclesiastical endorsement.
  5. Missionary and community service, work experience, and age may also be used as determining factors in admission.
  6. CES seminary.

Transfer Admissions Criteria

  1. Ecclesiastical endorsement.
  2. Sarjana Muda (Associate) diploma. Applicants should have 24, or more, semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution with a 6.5+ (“B” US equivalent) grade point average. Transfer credit hours may also be earned through distance education over the internet.
  3. High school transcript.
  4. Meet the English test requirement.
  5. CES seminary.

Other Factors

Community service, work experience, and age may also be used as determining factors in admission. Returned missionaries will be given priority.

BYU–Hawaii BYU-Pathway Partnership Program

BYU–Hawaii and BYU-Pathway Worldwide announced a new partnership that will expand educational options for international students. Here are the eligibility requirements:

  1. Complete BYU-Pathway’s foundational PathwayConnect curriculum with a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher and/or complete a BYU-Pathway Worldwide certificate and/or associate degree. 
  2. Meet the English test requirement.

The completion of a BYU-Pathway Worldwide program will waive BYU–Hawaii’s high school diploma/secondary education requirements.
