BYU–Hawaii Freshman Admissions Criteria

  1. SSCE graduate with aggregate of 24 (a ‘D’ average) or better on 3 core and 3 best electives.
  2. Students who have sat the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) must pass core English, core Mathematics, and core Science plus 3 elective subjects with an aggregate score of 24 or better on the WAEC exam.
  3. Meet the English Test Requirements.
  4. Ecclesiastical endorsement.
  5. Missionary and community service, work experience, and age may also be used as determining factors in admission.

For students who graduated before 1999

College-bound students need to pass at credit level 5 subjects (including English) in the GCE or WASC ‘O’ Levels exams AND 3 passes at the ‘A’ Levels of the GCE. One of the Advanced Level passes should be a grade D or better.
